State officials say more than 100,000 service members from Georgia were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan between 2001 and 2012. Nationally, about 20 percent of veterans coming back from those conflicts have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

Alchemy Sky Foundation is an Atlanta organization that helps people heal through music. It recently worked with a group of metro Atlanta veterans to create a song called "Adjust Fire."

Jaye Budd is a musician and founder of Alchemy Sky Foundation. He helped with the music project and stopped by "On Second Thought" to give the details. Marcus McCreary also joined the conversation. McCreary is an Army veteran and worked closely with other veterans in helping them write "Adjust Fire." 

Just over a month after President Donald Trump shared his goal to eliminate HIV in the next decade, his health secretary is out touting details of how the administration hopes to end transmission and prevent new diagnoses by 2030. 

Speaking at the National HIV Prevention Conference in Atlanta on Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar spoke about the administration’s initiative to a group of providers and community experts. In an interview with GPB's Robert Jimison, Azar said that four of the highest concentrations of HIV infection are counties throughout Atlanta: Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett and Fulton. 

“Fortunately, a number of the National Institutes of Health’s Centers for AIDS Research are located in the South," he said. "We plan to increase their resources to expand our knowledge of ways to deliver the best access to new tools like PrEP.”

The sound department makes sure what we hear is clear.

Whit Norris has worked for years as a sound mixer in "Y'all-ywood."  He talked about his love for audio with Kalena Boller, host of GPB's "The Credits" podcast. Whit told Kalena that his long career in sound design began at his college radio station, and continued in a documentary production company. That’s where he says his career took an unexpected turn.

"On Second Thought" kicked off the first day of spring with a preview of events happening around Georgia. Theater critic and Arts ATL contributor Kelundra Smith shared her picks for seasonal shows, festivals and events.
