Today's show featured conversations on parental incarceration and the Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon, along with a new entry in our "Main Ingredient" series.

The Atlanta-based nonprofit Foreverfamily helps strengthen the bonds between incarcerated parents and their children through educational programming and visitation. Sandra Barnhill is the founder and national president of the organization. She joined "On Second Thought" to discuss how Foreverfamily helps parents and kids foster relationships inside and outside of prison.

Chef Nolan Wynn also stopped by the show for a new installment of our "Main Ingredient" series. Wynn is the owner and executive chef of Banshee in Atlanta. He shared how he prepares the peanut brittle that accompanies the restaurant's grilled skirt steak and papaya salad dish. Wynn is also a semifinalist for a 2019 James Beard Award for "Rising Star Chef of the Year."

Finally, GPB reporter Grant Blankenship joined "On Second Thought" to discuss the creation of Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon. The designation quadruples the size of the area protected within what the people of the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma call their ancestral home.
