GPB reporter Cindy Hill also shared her audio postcard from Savannah's Urban Tree Nursery Project.
Raymond Carr was raised by Christian clowns. Yes, that’s a real thing. He was also taught by the famous Jim Henson Company. He is a master puppeteer who has worked all over the world. He joined the show to discuss his work and experience at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta.
Carr has commandeered animatronic dinosaurs, been the voice of a pufferfish, as well as created and directed some films of his own. He now owns his own production company called Ninja Puppet Productions.
Finally, author and photographer Kate T. Parker discussed her new book, The Heart of a Boy, out April 2. Her first book, Strong Is the New Pretty, showcased girlhood in all its messy, muddy glory. The book featured portraits of girls and young women whose beauty came from being their authentic selves. Now she's doing the same thing with boys and discussed the messages of empowerment that run through her books.
