Primary Content
The Masters, one of golf's most prestigious events, tees off this morning at Augusta National Golf Club.
Defending champion Patrick Reed will be looking to earn his second green jacket, the treasured prize bestowed on every Masters winner.
I’m so excited to come back to Augusta National and play @TheMasters as defending champion and experience all the great traditions! Thank you all for the support! #TeamReed https://t.co/VN4biU8DmW— Patrick Reed (@PReedGolf) March 19, 2019
Reed, who won two collegiate titles at Augusta University (formerly Augusta State), will be challenged by 86 of the world's top golfers.
Many eyes will be trained on Tiger Woods, who won his first tournament since 2013 at East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta last year.

Woods is a four-time Masters champion, the last of which came in 2005.
Other notable golfers to watch include:
- Justin Rose, the top ranked golfer on the PGA Tour
- Rory Mcllroy, who has finished in the top 10 of the past five Masters
- Bubba Watson, the two time Masters champion and former UGA Bulldog
- Jordan Spieth, who won the 2015 Masters at the age of 21.
All 87 players will be competing for their own green jacket and a cut of the $11 million prize purse.
Players will begin teeing off at 8:30 this morning, with CBS and ESPN covering the action on TV and radio.
