Claire and Anna talk Savannah weekend events.

Anna's picks:

  • Kick off the summer solstice Thursday at the SCAD Museum of Art flower crown-making workshop inspired by current exhibition "Think Twice," which is a collaboration between fashion designer Carla Fernandez and floral installation artist Flores Cosmos. You'll get a closer look into the exhibition and make headresses using flora and fauna of the Savannah area as the artists did for the exhibition. Workshop fee is $40 for museum members and $50 for non-members, and includes fresh flowers and step-by-step assembly instructions. The event runs 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Support Victory North's first public concert at An Evening with Little Tybee. Little Tybee is a Georgia-based band that blends together psych-folk, prog-rock, jazz and Motown. Along with food and drinks to enjoy will be other Savannah bands. General admission is $5; the event runs 8 p.m. to midnight Friday.
  • Hear a trio of bands at El-Rocko Lounge Friday from 9 p.m. to midnight. Acts include Dustin Price, Aaron Zimmer and Jalen Reyes. Admission is free.
  • Cheer on your favorite stud Friday at the fourth annual Mr. Savannah pageant, hosted at the Jinx by the Savannah Sweet Tease Burlesque Revue. Savannah's finest gentlemen will battle it out for the title by showing off their talents, swimsuits and shining personalities to show how they represent Savannah best. The show runs 10 p.m. to midnight; attendees must be 21 and older. Admission is $10.
  • Support local art at the Abode Studios opening Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. It's a new space for people to buy local art and take workshops from local artists and makers. Create your own work or pick up new ones for your loved ones or home. Drink and dine on local beer and Dark Shark tacos. Kids activities and more will be provided. Admission is free.

Claire's picks:

  • Take a load off at the Lil Splash - Friday Cool Down Savannah Pride pool party event at the Brice Hotel from 4 to 8 p.m. As it will be happy hour, drinks will be provided by Terrapin Beer Co. and Absolut Vodka. Admission is free.
  • Spice up your Friday at Big Green Eggs and Southbound Kegs, hosted at the Westin. They're opening up the pool deck, firing up the Big Green Eggs for their "Street Food" menu and tapping the Southbound Brew kegs. The event runs 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Clean up Savannah by participating in Endurance Race Service's Savannah Plogging event on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. Plogging is the act of picking up litter while jogging. Trash bags you can use will be provided and admission is free.
  • Raise funds for the Tiny House Project at Tiny House, Tiny Carnival on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Local vendors and makers will be on site at B&D Burgers on the Southside, with a bouncehouse, kids activities and games and other food and drinks.
