The Atlanta Hawks made some big moves in the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday, picking up two of the top college players in the country.

After a flurry of trades, Atlanta jumped up to the fourth pick in the first round to select De'Andre Hunter, who helped lead Virginia to a national title this year.

Hunter was also named ACC Defensive Player of the Year for the 2018-2019 season.

He says Atlanta is where he wanted to end up, especially after his pre-draft visit.

“When I there, they had a pretty strong feeling about me,” Hunter said.

“I knew that’s the place I wanted to be, that’s one of my destinations. I’m glad they traded up and got the pick.”

Because of NBA rules, Hunter’s trade to the Hawks won’t be made official until July 6th.

But the Hawks still had another big pick to make. With the 10th overall selection, Atlanta selected Cam Reddish from Duke University.

The 19-year-old prospect was rated as one of the best players in the country, playing alongside fellow top picks Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett at Duke.

With Reddish and Hunter, Atlanta adds two of the draft's most promising young talents.

They’ll look to contribute to an already young roster that features returning stars John Collins and Trae Young.

The Hawks also selected Bruno Fernando out of Maryland in the second round with the 34th overall pick.
