Jared Yates Sexton, Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Georgia Southern University, joins On Second Thought to talk about what inspired him to write The Man They Wanted Me to Be, his memoir of struggling to fit the tradition version of maleness — as well as an examination of research on how those traits measurably harm the mental and emotional health of those men and the public.
He’s best-known for his role on 30 Rock and known well enough that he showed up as a character in a Deadpool comic. On Second Thought is joined by Scott Adsit ahead of his weekend performances at Dad’s Garage.
