Music Minute: Remembering Atlanta Artist Cutty Cartel

This week, the rap community is mourning the loss of Cutty Cartel, who made up one-third of the Atlanta hip-hop group Jim Crow.
Cartel, born Ricardo Lewis, died at the age of 44 last Friday in Atlanta after suffering cardiac arrest.

He made his mark on the music industry by providing memorable hooks for several songs, including a feature on the song “Shutterbugg” with Big Boi.
Cartel and Jim Crow are also featured in the song “85,” named after the Georgia interstate, performing alongside Youngbloodz, Big Boi and Sean Paul.

Janet Jackson, T.I., David Banner and several other artists took to social media to remember Cutty Cartel.
A memorial service will take place Saturday in Atlanta.
