Kurds are evacuating their traditional homeland in Northeast Syria during a five-day brokered pause in hostility. This pause in military action is set to end today, Oct. 22.

The situation is complicated, violent and unfolding on the other side of the world, but Americans are following the events closely.

On Second Thought host Virginia Prescott speaks with Dr. Heval Kelli and Timothy Head.

Dr. Heval Kelli is a cardiologist in Atlanta and a Syrian born Kurd with family still in the region. Timothy Head was a missionary in the Middle East. His coalition, the Faith and Freedom Coalition, is an evangelical group that has been vocal in opposing President Trump’s sudden decision to withdraw U.S. military personnel in Syria. The two Georgians have been following the events and joined On Second Thought to discuss the conflict.
