The Halloween season brings plenty to do in Savannah. Marianne Ganem Poppell of Savannah Master Calendar has your guide.Marianne talks weekend events.

Marianne's picks:

  • Soak in the fall weather at Flourish, a garden party supporting EmployAbility's work with those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Guests can hear speaker Bertice Berry and meet the individuals training through EmployAbility's programs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday; tickets are $75.
  • Celebrate Pride all weekend at Savannah Pride. The festivities kick off at 8 p.m. Thursday with MasQueerade at Starland Yard, a costume ball celebrating queer and trans people of color; tickets are $5 general admission and $30 VIP. Friday brings Savannah's first Pride Parade, which features a costume contest and begins at 8 p.m.
  • Shop for a cause at the annual Grab a Bag for Kids charity luncheon at the Landings, supporting Horizons Savannah. The lunch includes a silent auction, purse auction and pop-up shops from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; tickets are $40.
  • Get the red carpet experience at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, which opens Saturday and continues through Nov. 2. Opening weekend highlights include a showcase of southern voices and screenings of Harriet and Motherless Brooklyn. Full schedule here.
  • Take the whole family to the Isle of Hope Music & Art Fest. The art show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the marina pavilion, with music from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; both are free.
  • Dress up your furry friends for Wag-o-Ween, a doggie costume party supporting local animal charities. Follow the event map to trick-or-treat at more than 100 businesses offering treats for costumed pups from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday; wristbands to participate are $5.
  • Spend an evening on Tybee at the Sunset Soiree. This fundraiser for the Fresh Air Home will support repairs to the home's boardwalk, so the children have direct access to the beach. It runs 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday; tickets are $75.
  • Party in Starland at Deep in the Streets, a fall fiesta on DeSoto Avenue supporting Deep's work with young people in Savannah. The night will include music by DJ Jose Ray and food from local restaurants including Tequila's Town, Crystal Beer Parlor, Green Truck Pub and Analog from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $40.
  • Eat your fill at the Shalom Y'all Jewish Food Festival in Monterey Square. Congregation Mickve Israel offers up latkes, blintzes, kugel and more along with a whole day of entertainment by local musicians and dancers from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday; the event is free with food available for purchase.
