In this edition of GPB's Morning Edition Music Minute, we're featuring one of the many faces behind the scenes at Georgia Public Broadcasting: audio engineer and sound designer Jesse Nighswonger.
Jesse works as the engineer for GPB's On Second Thought and Political Rewind. For promos and billboards, he often uses his original compositions as background music.Music Minute: Jesse Nighswonger
"I've been making electronic music since I was a little kid on my parent's computer," said Jesse, who graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in audio production.
Some of his favorite Georgia artists include Otis Redding, Neutral Milk Motel, REM and Manchester Orchestra.
"I think Georgia is super important for music in general," Jesse said. "There are so many major cities in Georgia that have colorful, amazing music scenes, like Athens, Atlanta, Macon and Savannah. Anything you want to do creatively in music, there's a scene for you in Georgia."
