New data from the Associated Press reveal more than a thousand failing dams in the U.S. that could have catastrophic consequences if they gave out. Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Grant Blankenship analyzed the information and learned Georgia is one of the most at-risk states. Former Pres. Barack Obama visited Atlanta recently to give the keynote address for the GreenBuild International Conference. To mark the visit, director of The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design at Georgia Tech, Shan Arora, and editor of Environmental Health News, Peter Dykstra, discussed methods that could make construction more eco-friendly.

Two Centers for Disease Control and Prevention doctors, Chris Taylor and Paul Arguin, formed a relationship and realized they both had another love: baking. They put their scientific prowess to work and joined forces to win pie competitions.
