Several organizations have come together to wipe out nearly all of the school lunch debt for two school districts in metro Atlanta.

More than $9,000 was recently donated to Marietta City Schools. Cobb County police and a local division of the Fraternal Order of Police donated $10,000 to the county school district in December.

School district officials say more than 40,000 students in the county receive free and reduced lunch.

Both school districts say students are allowed to charge a small number of meals. Students are still fed once they reach the charge limit.
