ROUND-UP: Events Planned For Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and there are several events around Atlanta to celebrate the life and legacy of the civil rights trailblazer.
Martin Luther King Day Celebration in Sandy Springs invites family and friends to commemorate Dr. King’s life with art projects and a special screening of Our Friend Martin.

Martin Luther King Day at the Atlanta History Center includes inspiring performances, historical simulations and other educational programs as well as the center’s regular exhibits.

MLK Day 5K Drum Run is a 3.1 mile race with a drumline and festivities in Piedmont Park.

Hosea Helps 2020 Celebration of MLK is a day event hosted by volunteer organization Hosea Helps.There will be free food, live music and other activities.

MLK Day of Service Mural 2020 encourages everyone to join in painting a mural to memorialize Dr. King.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Service is a church service held every year on the federal holiday. Seating is limited.

Dr. Martin Luther King Parade in downtown Lawrenceville will feature bands, volunteers and community groups for United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County’s 18th annual celebration.
