The beginning of February brings with it plenty of fun, music and more in Savannah. Writer Chris Berinato and Paprika Southern Co-editor Bevin Valentine Jalbert have your guide.Bevin and Chris talk weekend events.

Bevin's picks:

  • Discover local artisans at Abode's Open Studio Night. See the studios, shop the newly redesigned retail space and learn about upcoming workshops from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
  • Enjoy a '90s classic as SCAD Cinema Circle screens Clueless at the Trustees Theater. The modern retelling of Jane Austen's Emma is chock full of classic lines, fabulous fashion and a killer soundtrack. Catch it at 7 p.m. Friday; $8.
  • Get your Valentine's ready at the Lovelane Designs DIY Valentine Workshop for all ages at the Big Rainbow House. Choose from several different craft designs in mix-n-match packs of 12 or 24. Drop in from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $12 for 12 Valentines, $24 for 24.
  • Shop local at a wide variety of pop-up shops on Saturday. Check out Claire Parrish pottery at Hygge from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Valentine's Jewelry Pop Up at Savoy Society from noon to 4 p.m. and the Makers Market at Moon River Brewing from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Chris's picks:

  • Celebrate the new month at First Friday in Starland. Sulfur Studios has plenty to check out, including their artist residency The Rainbow Connection Project and the monthly street fair from 6 to 9 p.m.
  • Have a musical evening at First Friday for Folk Music. The band Seldom Sober will perform at the First Presbyterian Church on Washington Ave. from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.; $5 donation.
  • Combine music and beer at Bluegrass by the Pint. City Hotel will perform at Service Brewing from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday.
  • Go beyond classical with the Savannah Philharmonic's Modern to Majestic program. The pieces by Marquez, Gilliland and Tchaikovsky push the boundaries of what is considered "classical" music. The concert at the Johnny Mercer Theatre begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; $25 to $80.
  • Enjoy a funky night at Victory North with Mother's Finest. The Atlanta-based funk rock legends promise high-energy vocals and modern rhythms at 8 p.m. Saturday; $26.
  • Explore Savannah's museums during Super Museum Sunday. Participating museums are free to visitors from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Find the full list of museums here.
