Wednesday on Political Rewind, discussion surrounding election integrity as the November general election approaches. Today’s show featured a conversation with the CEO of Fair Fight Action Lauren Groh-Wargo

Groh-Wargo said state malfeasance and negligence added to ongoing problems with elections in Georgia.

“We saw in the June primary in Georgia all those problems compounded and exacerbated by the dynamics that the pandemic presented,” she said.

In other news, President Donald Trump visits Georgia. On his trip, he is set to highlight efforts to fast-track infrastructure projects. But the day could be overshadowed by news concerning the White House's attempts to sideline the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the nation's top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Greg Bluestein said the timing of the president’s visit gives Georgia Democrats an opening to attack his coronavirus response. Senate candidate Jon Ossoff has already voiced criticism of the president's perceived snub of experts.

“And what I think that reflects, too, is that polling shows a high level of support for public health specialists,” Bluestein said.
