Atlanta City Council's Felicia Moore moves to mayoral runoff

Atlanta City Council President Felicia Moore has emerged as the clear leader in the mayor's race in Georgia's largest city. She advanced to a Nov. 30 runoff with about 40% of the vote in the nonpartisan race.
“I am confident that people have heard our message for change and agree with us that Atlanta deserves more,” Moore told supporters Tuesday night.
Moore's opponent remained unclear early Wednesday, as City Council member Andre Dickens sought to deny former Mayor Kasim Reed a runoff spot.
The race has focused on fears of crime, with Moore saying she would seek an immediate boost in the number of police. Moore also focused on transparency, drawing a contrast with corruption allegations against Reed's administration.
Moore was first elected to council in 1997 and was elected citywide as council president in 2017.
