Fulton County residents can now download an app to access health and human services from a mobile device. GPB’s Ellen Eldridge reports.
Fulton County residents can now download an app to access health and human services from a mobile device.
The Fulton Cares app can provide information about things such as rental assistance, help for behavioral health issues and finding care for aging loved ones who want to remain at home, said Dr. Pamela Roshell, chief operating officer with Fulton County’s Health and Human Services Department.
The app is available for Android and iOS devices.
"Now more than ever, constituents are facing some really challenging times in a variety of ways," Roshell said. "So this is one tool that we have to try to connect them, to get them the help that they need."
Information is available 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
"There's so much that we do at Fulton County that it's often difficult to just really see everything in one place and really understand and appreciate what we have to offer," Roshell said.
A chat feature means residents can ask questions and get real-time answers about available services from the Fulton County departments of: Arts and Culture, Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Community Development, Environmental Health, Fulton County Board of Health, Fulton County Library System, HIV Services, and Senior Services.
