This Valentine’s Day, 20 couples will be married by Mayor Andre Dickens at Piedmont Park in a massive late afternoon wedding ceremony.

Piedmont Park’s Greystone venue will host the “Marry We” mass wedding ceremony. Each couple paid $1,000. That covers the cost of their marriage license, a reception, professional photographs, and a gift.

Crystal Love is the founder of Marry We, an Atlanta-based wedding planning company. She said the goal of this event is to take stress off couples getting married.

“We are going all out for these couples, and we should because it's their wedding day,” Love said. “So we're super, super excited about it. So, for them, they get to focus on each other. They get to focus on their love, they get to focus on their marriage, and we focus on the wedding.”

One of the couples getting married are Al and Jillian Dixon. They met online in 2019 and got engaged June 19, 2022. Couples are only allowed to bring four guests to the reception, but Jillian Dixon said that made planning easier for her.

“I can take the stress out of who to invite or not to invite because I only have four people: my kids and his parents,” Dixon said.

The couple decided to get married in this group ceremony just last week. Al Dixon was born in Georgia, and he said this wedding experience being in Atlanta is a big deal.

“I am Atlanta everything," he said. "I mean all the teams: Hawks, Falcons, Braves — all that, all day. That's all I wear. I am fully Atlanta. We live off of Cascade. We want to, live, you know, really real Atlanta. Like, Atlanta means a lot to me.”

The 5 p.m. ceremony will be held outdoors, so the general public is welcome to watch.
