'Relentless efficiency': Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport ranks No. 1 in North America — again

The Business Traveler Awards has picked Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as its top airport for the second year running, thanks to its proximity to hotels and "relentless efficiency."

In addition to the Best Airport in North America, Business Traveler magazine also gave the Atlanta airport its Service Quality Award for Best Airport at Arrivals Globally, beating out nearly 400 airports in 95 countries.

“Even as ATL continues to receive recognition for its world-class service, the City of Atlanta is constantly working to improve operations and passenger experience,” said Mayor Andre Dickens. “From opening a new state-of-the-art fire station to adding parking decks to modernizing our Concourses, we are dedicated to ensuring this economic engine for the Southeast region of the country stands head and shoulders above the rest.”

"This recognition complements ATL’s commitment to enhance passenger experiences, embrace new technologies, and improve ADA accessibility through ATLNext, the Airport’s multibillion-dollar capital improvement program," a press release from the city of Atlanta read. "With support provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Airport has elevated its infrastructure with major projects including Fire Station 32, Domestic Terminal interior enhancements, North and South Parking Deck renewal, and the upcoming Plane Train tunnel extension and Concourse D Widening project."

“ATL is not just a transit point, it is a gateway to the world,” ATL General Manager Balram “B” Bheodari said in the statement. “Receiving the North America’s Best Airport Award from Business Traveler Magazine is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and underscores our essential role in connecting people, businesses and cultures.”

Delta Air Lines claimed the title of North America’s Best Airline — one of four awards. Business Traveler presented Cirium’s Platinum Award for Operational Excellence to Delta for its record of 84% of its flights arriving on time in 2022. Delta also won for Best Business Class, Best Premium Economy and Best Airline Lounge.
