The Fox Theatre in Atlanta announced the return of its annual benefit concert, Revival, scheduled for Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s live music event is headlined by folk rock starsthe Indigo Girls, and also features performances from Charlie Starr and Benji Shanks of Blackberry Smoke.
Hosted once again by Atlanta native and renowned musician Kevn Kinney of Drivin N Cryin, the Revival concert aims to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of Georgia’s historic theaters.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Revival will feature the renowned artists The Indigo Girls and Charlie Starr with Benji Shanks of Blackberry Smoke,” said Leigh Burns, director of the Fox Theatre’s community partnerships program.
“This annual benefit is all about celebrating our state’s rich theater and music culture, bringing together fans and supporters in Atlanta for a memorable evening of performances and meaningful fundraising.”
The event will see the return of the “Fund-A-Mission” auction, an initiative in which concert attendees can contribute to the Fox Theatre’s outreach program.
Established in 2008, the Fox Theatre’s outreach program offers critical support to historic theatres across Atlanta, having awarded $3.2 million in financial assistance over the past 15 years.
Last year alone, the Fox Theatre provided $500,000 in grants to 12 theaters throughout Georgia, including significant contributions to venues in metro Atlanta such as The Strand in Marietta and Northwest Atlanta’s Grove Theatre.
This year’s concert proceeds will raise money for the theatre’s “Fox in a Box” outreach program, which benefits elementary school students throughout Georgia.
Fox in a Box aims to educate students about the communal history of the Fox Theatre and emphasizes the importance of communities coming together to preserve what is important to them.
Tickets for Revival are available on the Fox Theatre website.
