A state court judge in southeast Georgia's Effingham County, Steve Yekel, has died by suicide inside the county courthouse.

The Atlanta Braves are honoring the memory of one of their most devoted lifelong fans, former President Jimmy Carter.

Atlanta is closing out the year with two events expected to draw large crowds on New Years Eve and New Year's Day.
