The Atlanta Braves are remembering one of their lifelong fans — former President Jimmy Carter. 

As the nation says goodbye to Carter, who died in Plains on Sunday at the age of 100, state officials in Georgia are preparing for an influx of mourners.

The city of Atlanta is closing out the year with two major events drawing crowds downtown on New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day.
