Mental health and addiction care aren't prioritized in Georgia. A bipartisan group is changing that

Parity in health care means substance misuse treatment and heart defects should be treated the same way by insurance companies. A federal parity law passed in 2008, but there is no mechanism to ensure parity is enforced in Georgia. A plan presented Nov. 10 at the state Capitol seeks to change that.

Political Rewind: Kemp pushes back on vaccine mandate; Georgia GOP and Dems clash over redistricting

Monday on Political Rewind: Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr have expanded their legal battle against the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. They filed a new lawsuit even as Georgia passed 25,000 deaths from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the state senate is moving quickly to pass new Georgia voting districts. Democrats say GOP legislators aren’t giving them or the public the time needed to weigh in on the new maps.
