Updated COVID-19 boosters for kids on their way to Georgia

Prior to FDA approval on Wednesday, Georgia healthcare providers had already pre-ordered the new boosters from Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna.

As immunity wanes fom the first booster, the FDA has now authorized a second shot for people 50 and older and some immunocompromised people. The CDC has also recommended that people get the booster.

CDC recommends 2nd COVID boosters for some older and immunocompromised people

People who are 50 and older and certain immunocompromised individuals may get a second Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster four months after they received the first.
