Employers added a whopping 339,000 jobs in May, far above expectations, according to a report from the Labor Department on Friday. The unemployment rate rose to 3.7%, from 3.4% in April.
New York City employers must post the minimum and maximum salary amounts they are prepared to pay at the time of the listing. Vague language such as "$15 per hour and up" is prohibited, the law says.
Employers can still give drug tests or fire an employee if they are acting under federal guidelines, or if an employee consumed marijuana at work or while performing work-related duties.
