Jim Gordon, the famed session drummer who backed Eric Clapton and The Beach Boys before being diagnosed with schizophrenia and going to prison for killing his mother, has died. He was 77.
The 77-year-old guitar legend has been a critic of coronavirus vaccines and pandemic restrictions. He has tested positive for COVID-19 and canceled two upcoming European gigs.
On social media late Wednesday, the musician wrote: "I wish to say that I will not perform on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present."
