Compared to last year, abortion remains a largely untouched issue by state lawmakers. Constituents on both sides of the debate say they'd like to see more action.

Across the country there is evidence that abortion restrictions have made it harder on reproductive health care workers. But understanding how the workforce has changed overall could take years.

State Supreme Court justices heard arguments from both sides on Tuesday in a case that bring into question the constitutionality of Georgia's abortion law, which currently bans abortions past about six weeks of pregnancy. 

A lower court's decision had prohibited enforcement of the abortion ban statewide. Seven of the state's nine justices agreed to let the ban go into effect.
