A federal grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the April incident at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

Las Vegas resident Claude Russell Pensinger disappeared while fishing in the reservoir. His skeletal remains were one of several sets discovered last year as water levels dropped in a drought.

U.S. officials announced Tuesday that the two states, which rely on water from the Colorado River, will face more water cuts as they endure extreme drought.

The reservoir continues to suffer from a 22-year drought that now has water levels at only 27% of capacity. That's surfaced four sets of skeletal remains in the past four months.
