The U.S. assistant secretary for health, who will speak at Texas Christian University, says physicians need to be more vocal in fighting politically motivated attacks on vulnerable trans youth.
"I think people fear what they don't understand," says Levine, assistant secretary for health and the first openly transgender person to serve in a Senate-confirmed position.
Levine, a doctor who was previously Pennsylvania's secretary of health, is the first openly transgender federal official to win Senate confirmation. She's the new assistant secretary for health.
