Civil rights icon Andrew Young delivers a sermon at First Congregational Church on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 to celebrate his 90th birthday in Atlanta. A new scholarship program for students at historically black colleges and universities bears the name of the former United Nations Ambassador. McGraw Hill Education, an arm of McGraw Hill publishing, put up an initial $50,000 for the Andrew Young HBCU Scholarship Program, which will fund 10 first-year students next fall who plan to attend an HBCU.

Manning funds Ga. Tech scholarship honoring Demaryius Thomas

Peyton Manning has set up a scholarship at Georgia Tech honoring former teammate Demaryius Thomas. The NFL receiving great died in December from an apparent seizure at his suburban Atlanta home.

School offers full tuition to 58 students after a scholarship award message error

A test of Central Michigan University's new messaging system "inadvertently" told 58 students they won an award that provides full tuition, room and board, money toward books and supplies and $5,000.
