Some fans of the late singer have taken to social media to denounce the use of digital technology to make her sound older.

'Selena' will return to theaters in April to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary.

The songs are part of the catalog belonging to the family's record label. Producers were able to digitally update Selena's voice in her teen songs to sound exactly as she did before her death in 1995.

The Library of Congress annually picks 25 movies to be preserved for posterity. Selections this year range from 'WALL-E' to 'Who Killed Vincent Chin?'
