Federal prosecutors said Friday that they will seek the death penalty against a white supremacist who killed 10 Black people at the Tops supermarket in 2022.
The lawsuit filed in the New York Supreme Court argues that several companies, along with the shooter's parents, played roles in the 2022 shooting that killed 10 Black people and injured three others.
The 19-year-old also faces 27 charges at the federal level, one of which carries a possible death sentence. He will make an appearance in federal court this week.
