Georgia Democrats called on Republican Gov. Brian Kemp Monday to remove three GOP members of the State Election Board for approving “11th-hour” changes to state elections laws they say could disrupt the November elections.
A trio of conservative members of the Georgia State Election Board agreed Wednesday to further investigate Fulton County’s 2020 presidential election law violations despite warnings from fellow board members that their decision was illegal.
The nonprofit government watchdog group that sued to overturn votes taken at a Georgia State Election Board meeting earlier this month, held despite warnings from the Georgia Attorney General, says it will continue to monitor the board’s actions after the panel rescinded its earlier vote during a virtual meeting Tuesday afternoon.
The Georgia State Election Board will meet Tuesday for the first time since several conservative board members advanced election rules at a meeting on July 12 that has come under fire for allegedly violating Georgia’s Open Meetings Act.
