A cargo container was transported to a holding facility and stolen from there, according to police, who assured visitors the incident is not a public safety concern and likely an isolated event.
The number of guns stolen from cars is on the rise. A report by the group Everytown for Gun Safety found that in the decade ending in 2020, Warner Robbins, Ga., had the fifth-highest rate nationally of guns stolen from cars. Checks are going missing from the mail in Georgia. The Dunwoody Police Department reports that checks totaling about half a million dollars have disappeared from the post office since last summer. Experts say those checks have found their way onto underground markets.
