Renowned soul and gospel singer Cissy Houston has died. She was part of a extraordinary musical family that included Dionne Warwick and her superstar daughter, Whitney Houston.

This year Whitney Houston would have turned 60, and a special celebration to raise money for a good cause is being planned for her birthday. Houston's estate, Sony and Primary Wave Music will host the 2nd annual Whitney Houston Legacy of Love on Aug. 9, which will benefit the late singer's foundation aimed at helping young people.

Avatar: The Way of Water sailed to the top of the box office in its second weekend, bringing in what studios estimate Sunday will be a strong $56 million in North America.

"It was mostly just Black families and people that lived around there," Dolly Parton said. "And I thought, 'This is the perfect place for me to be, considering it was Whitney.' "
