Make That Kid An Offer Nominees: Week of October 9

GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. If you, or someone you know, doesn’t have an offer or may just be looking for a bigger offer, tell us your story. Send the details on what you've done over your career, along with your video highlights to GPBSports@gpb.org. If you’re selected we may feature you on our Football Fridays in Georgia Halftime Show Fridays at 7:30 pm on GPB. You can also watch it on demand here.
Here are our nominees for the week of October 9, 2023.
Gill Nkrumah, East Paulding, WR, SR
Gill Nkrumah is a 5’10 165 LBS Senior Wide Receiver at East Paulding High School. So far, he is ranked at #10 in Class 6A-Region 5 with 136 receiving yards. He was awarded Player of the Game in week 4 after their Paulding County matchup. He maintains a 3.1 GPA.

Keith Bass Jr.,Cedar Grove, LB, JR
Keith Bass Jr. is a 5'11 197 LBS Junior Linebacker at Cedar Grove High School. The straight-A student athlete is described as an "all around" player, that's the top leader in tackles and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year in 2022. He is a member of the Bound to Read Organization and Free Hugs Campaign for DeKalb County. Outside of school and football, he is a cowboy. He owns three horses, that he trains regularly, and competed in the Bill Picket Rodeo Relay.

Jake Turner, Oglethorpe County, RB, SR
Jake Turner is a 6'2 205 LBS Senior Running Back at Oglethorpe County High School. The three-starter had 1,266 yards and 14 TD's during his junior year, granting him 1st Team All-Region awards. For the 2023 season, he was a part of AJC's Preseason All-State selection. In his first six games, he has 610 yards and eight TD's. He maintains a 3.87 GPA, and takes honors and AP classes.

Connor Brasfield, Cartersville, MLB/TE, SR
Connor Brasfield is a 6'1 220 LBS Senior Middle Linebacker and Tight End at Cartersville High School. On defense, the two-year starter and team captain has 30 solo tackles (38 total), nine tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. On offense, he has five for 76 yds and one TD. After the Purple Hurricanes game against Calhoun, Brasfield was nominated for Receiver of the Week, Linebacker of the Week, Defensive POW, Turnover Belt and Overall POW. His coaches said that they would not have been able to come back against the Yellow Jackets if it wasn't for him!

Wyatt Halstead, Schley County, C/DT, SR
Wyatt Halstead 6'1 250 LBS Senior Center and Defensive Tackle at Schley County High School. In 2022, he was awarded Region 6A First Team Offensive Line, Lineman of the Year, area 1-A Champion Wrestler, and GACA State Champion for Weightlifting. He is known to have a great work ethic and is an awesome leader on and off the field. He maintains a 4.0 GPA and hopes to play at the next level.

Brock Nobles, Toombs County, D/OL, SR
Brock Nobles a 6'2 270 LBS Senior Lineman at Toombs County High School. The four-year starter can function as a tackle on both sides of the ball. So far on the season he has 30 tackles with five sacks. He was awarded All-Region and All-State honors two times, selected for preseason All-State by Recruit GA, selected as a top DT for the Class of 2024 by GA Varsity Rivals and Scout Smart featured him as a top Defensive player. Outside of football, he is also a four-year starter for both the wrestling and track teams, and has ranked in the top for both sports at meets. He has a 3.9 GPA, and is a member of the BETA Club, made the Faculty Honor Roll list, and was awarded Academic All-State for wrestling.
Nobles says he works hard in the classroom and on the field in hopes of fulfilling his dream to play college football.

Jonathan Gough Adairsville, QB, SR
Jonathan Gough is a 6'3 205 LBS Senior Quarterback at Adairsville High School. Gough is a three-year starter and captain for the Tigers. Through seven games, he has 58 rushes for 471 yards, long of 70 yards. Nine rushing TD's 46/89 passing, three interceptions, for 934 yards with a long of 72 and ten passing TD's. Due to his high performance on the field, he has received multiple "Player of the Game" awards, along with All-Region QB and Coaches Leadership Awards. Not only is he a beast on the field, but he has also played basketball and ran track for the past 3 years. He owns one school record in the 4 x 200 Relay. Gough has a 3.88 GPA. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with family and fishing.

Justen Hill, Jonesboro, DE/OLB, SR
Justen Hill is a 6'1 210 LBS Senior Defensive End and Outside Linebacker at Jonesboro. His coach says he has crazy speed off the edge. Last year, he recorded nine sacks. According to Max Preps, he has a career total of 56 solo tackles (69 total) and 13 sacks. His position coach says he is a very skilled pass rusher, can be a stand up outside LB, and has great first step.
