Georgia voters headed to the polls yesterday, largely re-elected incumbent mayors and approving special sales tax questions.

The Secretary of State's office says yesterday's municipal elections went smoothly thanks to a new voter registration system.

In Savannah, Mayor Van Johnson cruised to a second term, easily defeating an election challenge from a fellow council member.
