Love is in the air all around Atlanta and there are plenty of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with or without a significant other. Here are a few suggestions: 

 

Relive Sade’s Love Deluxe

ATL Collective will cover Sade’s hit album along with her other hits at two shows, 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 9 at City Winery at Ponce City Market.This show will raise funds for ATL Collective, a nonprofit that provides resources for local musicians. Cupid’s Undie Run 

More social than sweaty, this race is run for charity. On Saturday, Feb. 10, runners will meet up at noon at The Ivy, 3717 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA, 30342. The Children’s Tumor Foundation is committed to finding treatments for the millions of people worldwide living with neurofibromatosis (NF). Cost: $45. Sign up here. 

 

The Illuminarium After Dark

The Illuminarium After Dark, 550 Somerset Terrace NE, Atlanta, GA, 30306, is hosting a Valentine’s experience on Saturday, Feb. 10. Lovers and friends will escape into a virtual garden of Georgia O’Keeffe’s most celebrated pieces. The 21+ event begins at 6 p.m. Cost: $35 and up. Get tickets here for Love Fest. 

 

Paint and Sip

Paint like Bob Ross at the Saturday, Feb. 10, event at Dunwoody Nature Center, 5343 Roberts Drive, Dunwoody, GA, 30338. BYOB for an evening of creativity. High quality oil paints and brushes are provided. Aimed at 21+, it’s the perfect activity to do alone or with a friend. Cost: $70. Reserve a spot today. 

 

Fulton Wedding Ceremonies

Courts in Fulton County will rule in favor of love on Valentine’s Day by offering free wedding ceremonies all day on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Judges will perform free weddings from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Fulton County Courthouse, 136 Pryor Street SW, in Downtown Atlanta. To participate couples must first purchase a Fulton County marriage license from Probate Court. No appointment is needed for the ceremonies. Each couple may invite up to six guests to their ceremony. Couples with a marriage license from outside of Fulton County may still be wed by one of the judges, but an $80 fee will be charged. Valentines in the Garden

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., spend a romantic evening under the stars at the Atlanta Botanical Garden with musician Joe Gransden, a vow renewal, special dishes available throughout the property, cocktails, and more. Cost: $85 for non-members, $80 for members. Tickets are available here.

 

Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance

French dining at Brassica on Wednesday, Feb. 14, will feature a lavish four-course dinner and live music in the Waldorf Astoria’s iconic Peacock Alley lobby lounge. Book a reservation on Open Table. 

 

Marry We with Mayor Andre Dickens

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens will marry 25 couples in a group wedding on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Packages start at $2,500 for an stress-free wedding, professional portraits, live entertainment, dinner, open bar, and desserts. The location is revealed only to participating couples. Sweetheart’s Dance

Formerly known as the dad-daughter dance, Brookhaven Park and Recreation’s annual Sweetheart Valentine’s Dance returns Sunday, Feb. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Lynwood Park Community Center, 3360 Osborne Road, Brookhaven, GA, 30319. The event includes music, dancing, photos, and dinner. Cost: $30 for the first adult/child, and $10 for each additional child. Register here by Feb. 16. 

 

Lights of Love

A special Valentine’s Day event for the patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,  Lights of Love will take place Feb. 14  at each campus — Hughes Spalding (5:30 p.m), Egleston (8 p.m.) and Scottish Rite (8 p.m). Children’s staff, volunteers, families and supporters from across Atlanta will stand outside the windows of all three hospital campuses. They will then shine flashlights to the patients in their hospital rooms who will shine their lights back at the crowd.
