President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump rallied in Georgia on March 9 to make their final pitches to voters ahead of the state's presidential preference primary.
The Associated Press reported that both could secure enough delegates this week to win their respective parties’ presidential nominations before facing off again in November for a rematch of the 2020 presidential election.
For Georgia voters, the Tuesday, March 12 presidential preference primary is the first election day of several key voting dates in 2024.
In Georgia, you can vote in person on election days from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at your assigned polling place. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote. Find your assigned polling place on My Voter Page.
In Georgia's presidential preference primary, voters may vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary but not both. Here is a sample ballot for the Republican presidential primary and a sample ballot for the Democratic presidential primary. Please note that some candidates withdrew their bids for president after the deadline to remove their names from the ballots.
You can register any time. But you must be registered at least 30 days before an election to vote in that election and its runoff dates. Unless you registered by Feb. 12, you will not be able to vote in the March 12 presidential preference primary or the April 9 runoff races (if applicable).
