Primary Content
Residents and businesses across Atlanta are experiencing low water pressure or outages after a water main broke today.
A 32-inch water main break near the intersection of Joseph E. Boone Blvd. N.W. and James P. Brawley Drive has created water issues across the city.
Crews are onsite and “working aggressively” to make repairs to the water main affecting the service area, according to the Department of Watershed Management.
There were reports of no water at the state Capitol, Atlanta City Hall, and disruption at Grady Hospital.
All Fulton County facilities in the downtown area affected by the large water main break closed this afternoon, including the Fulton County Government Center and Courthouse.
Several restaurants have closed due to the water main break, including Manuel’s Tavern in Poncey-Highland, The Wrecking Bar in Little Five Points, and Staplehouse in Old Fourth Ward.
The Georgia Aquarium also posted on social media that it was shutting down for the day due to the break.
Low water pressure was observed in Midtown at a number of condo and apartment complexes.
