Francis Ford Coppola will open the All-Movie Hotel in Peachtree City, southwest of Atlanta, this weekend after using the hotel as a site for his recent Megalopolis film, featuring a large cast of Hollywood actors set in a futuristic New York City.

Coppola, known best for directing major films like The Godfather, names the hotel as a "hospitality experience for film enthusiasts and filmmakers" on the official site for the hotel.

In a short letter, he also cites his love for Peachtree City throughout the movie's filming.

“I fell in love with Peachtree City during my two years of residency here while shooting Megalopolis: the people, the easy access to nature and peaceful spots via the famed golf cart paths. We created a completely unique place here for filmmakers and film enthusiasts as well all our Hideaway guests around the world, to enjoy this new hideaway as well as rubbing shoulders with filmmakers in the midst of their work!”

As previously mentioned, the hotel is located in Peachtree City in the metro Atlanta area, close to the following attractions and locations:

  • Trilith Studios (where the film was shot at);
  • Lake Peachtree;
  • Peachtree Farmers Market;
  • Fred Amphitheater;
  • Georgia Tour Co.;
  • Golf cart paths and golf courses;
  • Line Creek Nature Area;
  • Southern Hollywood Film Tour;
  • Commemorative Air Force Base.

The 27-guest room hotel offers rooms with "newly renovated accommodations," personally designed by Coppola "with comfort in mind and featuring luxury touches and finishes."

For filmmaking purposes, the hotel also offers:

  • Screen room/theater;
  • Editorial Wing;
  • ADR Suite;
  • Editorial Suite;
  • IT and Tech;
  • On-site equipment;
  • Green room;
  • Stage.

In a video explaining why he chose to open the hotel in Georgia, Coppola said that the hotel allowed him to take his mind off of the movies at times.

"When I came to Georgia, and I was going to make this gigantic movie, I couldn't stop thinking about it," he said. "So I had a second project, which was to take this hotel, which was a Days Inn motel, basically, and it was nothing like what we needed. When I didn't want to think about the movie, I would think about this hotel, and when I didn't want to think about the hotel, I would think about the movie."

On his idea to combine lodging and post-production facilities, Coppola says designing the hotel to accommodate the filmmaking process allowed movie stars and the production teams to be in one area where they could work and have living accommodations.

"This is the only place in the world that I think exists that has such an intimate connection between not only living accommodations but also luxury living accommodations, editing suites, and a mix studio, which is where you put together the picture and the sounds," he said.
