Serra Sowers is a recent alumni from the University of Florida and a new Dow Jones News Fund 2024 intern working on environmental multimedia reporting for The Current. During her time as a journalist at UF, she worked for WUFT, a PBS and NPR affiliate station covering everything from hurricanes to local elections for Gainesville and the North Central Florida area. Her work has been recognized by multiple national organizations like the Broadcast Education Association and the Hearst Awards.
