Usher, a fixture on the Atlanta music scene for more than two decades, was set to kick off his North American Past, Present, Future tour in Atlanta Wednesday night as part of three shows — Aug. 14, 16 and 17 — at State Farm Arena.

Following 100 sold-out shows of his My Way: The Las Vegas Residency and the most-watched Super Bowl halftime performance of all time, the multi-platinum entertainer announced the tour earlier this year. He's expected to perform songs from his 30-year career including from his ninth studio album, Coming Home, released earlier this year.

But Wednesday afternoon, just hours before doors were scheduled to open for his first of three State Farm Arena appearances in Atlanta, Usher posted on his social media that the show is postponed:

Although the singer did not specify a specific health reason, he wrote that he needed to "give my body a second to rest and heal."

State Farm Arena posted on its website that it would email ticketholders directly with updates about the rescheduled concert: "The Usher show scheduled for tonight, August 14, has been postponed. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date once announced. More information will be posted on StateFarmArena.com and emailed to ticketholders directly when available."
