GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but who may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters. Here are our nominees for the week of August 19, 2024.

Cam Traylor, McEachern, WR, SR

Cam Traylor is a 5'11 165 LBS senior wide receiver at McEachern. According to MaxPreps, the two-year varsity starter finished his junior season with 89 yards and one touchdown. Due to his exceptional leadership skills, his team voted him into the Leadership Counsel. Traylor runs track in the football off-season and has a 3.0 GPA. He has plans to play at the next level and study Sports Medicine.

Nick Simmons, Ware County, LB, SR

Nick Simmons is a 6'0 210 LBS senior linebacker for Ware County. Having played on the '22 State Championship team, he currently serves as team captain due to his high-level playing experience and leadership skills. The senior Gator has received a Coaches Award, named All-Region and was a part of the 912 Preseason team. A multi-sport athlete, Simmons plays tennis and was recognized as a 2x state weight lighting champion. Exceling not only on the field but also in the classroom, the 2025 prospect has a 3.9 GPA with plans to study Business in college.

Matt Pearch, Dunwoody, QB, SR

Matt Pearch is a 6'2 200 LBS senior quarterback at Dunwoody. The returning starter led the Wildcats to their first playoff appearance since 2009, finishing the '23 season at 151-254 for 59%, 1,684 yards, an average of 210.5 yards per game and 16 TD's. The dual sport athlete has a 93 MPH fastball and is committed to Yale to play Baseball while getting looks from MLB teams, particularly the Cincinnati Reds as a potential draft pick next summer.

He currently has no football offers but hopes that will change. Here’s what Coach Mike Nash has to say about the senior "Matt is getting all his accolades in baseball, but he’s football guy. It's a crime he hasn't received any football offers."

Christian Smith, Jonesboro, WR, SR

Christian Smith is a 5'10 160 LBS senior wide receiver at Jonesboro. The scholar-athlete has a 3.55 GPA with hopes of playing at the next level. According to Max Preps, Smith finished his junior season with 107 rushing yards, 21 tackles and one TD. Here are a few words from his position coach: “Chris is a smart , hard worker and an explosive slot WR that can make plays in space.”

Dillon Mohammed, Norcross, QB, SR

Dillon Mohammed is a 6'1 195 LBS senior quarterback at Norcross. During his freshman year at GAC, Mohammed started off his football career as a quarterback and safety at GAC before transferring to Norcross. Not playing much during his sophomore, he truly began to blossom last season alongside former Blue Devil and current Jax State QB, AJ Watkins. As a junior, he threw for 823 yards at 62% with nine TD’s and rushed for 203 yards with three TD’s. Starting off his senior season, in just one game, Mohammed's notched 254 yards at 77%, two touchdowns and 49 rushing yards. A member of the team's Leadership Council, he has also received All-Region and All-County awards and is currently nominated for Player of the Week in Gwinnett. He has a 3.2 GPA, while taking honors and AP classes. Mohammed has one offer from Morehouse but is hoping for more during his senior season.
