GPB Sports is looking for Georgia high school football players who are having a great season and career but may need a little help getting noticed by recruiters.

Here are our nominees for the week of September 30, 2024.

 

Lawrence Wilder, Creekside, DT/FB, SR

Wilder is a 5'11 250 LBS senior defensive tackle and fullback for the Creekside Seminoles. He began his high school football career at Tri-Cities where he started as a center for the Bulldogs during both his freshman and sophomore years. As a freshman, Wilder was voted Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. A versatile player that can line up at pretty much any position,  Wilder has notched a total of seven tackles on the season, according to Max Preps. He plays baseball as well for the Seminoles and has a 3.1 GPA. He wishes to attend college and play at the next level, with the hope coaching one day.

Dy’lon Womack, North Cobb, DB/WR, SR

The 6'0 190 LBS senior defensive back and wide receiver for the North Cobb Warriors has an impressive four interceptions, six pass break ups, and 39 total tackles with one tackle for loss, one sack and one QB pressure on the season so far. Womack has been named Player of the Week, earned First Team All-Region and garnered several D-1 offers. He holds a 4.0 GPA. In the future, he wishes to play in the NFL, and become an engineer.

Tavon Carson, Seckinger, CB/FS, SR

Carson is a 5'10 165 LBS senior cornerback and free safety for the Seckinger Jaguars. Described as a standout athlete with excellent leadership on the field, he's recorded three interceptions, blocked a punt, and had five pass break ups on the season to earn him Gwinnett Player of the Week and Gwinnett Player of the Month. Carson is also an impressive track athlete that holds a 3.9 GPA,  highlighting his commitment to both academics and athletics. The senior Jaguar is also a participant in the Work Permit program where he works as an Inside Sales rep for Failsafe Properties, logging 15 hours a week in Real Estate. Carson is focused on continuing his athletic and academic pursuits at the collegiate level, with the goal of further developing his skills and contributing to a successful team. He has P5 and D1 visits lined up after a successful start to the season.

Nathan Marks, South Gwinnett, LB/TE/E, SR

The 6'2 205 LBS senior athlete for the South Gwinnett Comets has skills as a linebacker, tight end, and edge. He has 13 total tackles, four sacks, two QB hurries and caused one fumble on the season so far. Known to be incredibly dedicated to football, he is consistently putting in extra hours of practice and attending camps, going beyond what is required to hone his techniques and build endurance. His love for football drives him to push his limits and constantly seek ways to excel on and off the field. Marks holds a 3.8 GPA and wishes to play at the next level.

Tucker Perkins, Effingham County, QB, JR

Perkins is a 6'3 190 LBS junior quarterback for the Effingham County Rebels. So far this season, he's thrown for over 1200 yards - averaging 246 yards per game with a 66% completion rate, threw 12 TD passes and has just one interception. Despite his first year starting for the Rebels, Carson has quickly shown that he's up for the test and has even garnered a player of the week nomination.

Ethan Brown, Adairsville, ATH, SR

The 6'3 220 LBS senior athlete for the Adairsville Tigers has notched a total of 41 total tackles, two sacks, three QB hurries and one forced fumble so far this season. Brown is known as a "tough, physical two-way player" with the ability to play as a defensive back, tight end, and long snapper. He also runs track for the Tigers. He has a 3.7 GPA and currently has one offer but would love to have some other options.

Travieon Davis, Jonesboro , DB, SR

Davis is a 6'1 160 LBS senior defensive back for the Jonesboro Cardinals. The former Stockbridge Tiger quickly found his footing with the Cardinals and has accumulated 24 tackles and two pass breakups on the season so far. Here are a few words from Coach Brooks, his position coach: “Travieon has great ball skills. He has a skill set to play both corner and the safety position on the next level. The scary part is Travieon hasn’t reached his full potential yet.”

Andrew Ryan, Roswell, C, SR

Ryan is a 6'3 285 LBS senior starting center for the Roswell Hornets. His season stats so far include: 22 knock downs with zero sacks allowed.  Ryan has had an impressive high school football career with an Offensive Newcomer of the Year award during his sophomore season, 2023 All-Region 7-6A and a Second Team Offensive Line award during his junior season. As a starter for the Hornets during his sophomore season, the team went 12-2, named region champions and made it to the semi-final round of playoffs. As a junior, they went 11-2, were named region champions once again and made it to the quarter-final round of playoffs that year as well.

Ryan has a 3.6 GPA and is interested in attending a 4-year university while studying business.
