One of the state’s oldest and most intense rivalries will be in the spotlight when the Marist-St. Pius game is featured on this week’s Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast on GPB-TV.

The rivalry between two of the oldest Catholic schools in Metro Atlanta began in1962 and has come to known as the “Fish Bowl,” with a trophy going to the winner to possess for the next year. Marist leads the series 37-18-3.

Marist has won the last four meetings, including last year’s 17-0 victory.

Marist, the No. 1-ranked team in Class 4A, is 6-0 and 4-0 in Region 5-4A after Friday’s 48-0 win over North Springs.

St. Pius is 6-1 and 5-0 in Region 5 after defeating Clarkston 42-0 on Friday.
