In one of the season’s most anticipated games, Carrollton will travel to play Douglas County and determine a region championship on this week’s edition of GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.  Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

The winner will earn first place in Region 2-6A and will be the league's No. 1 seed when the state playoffs begin on Nov. 15. The loser will be the No. 2 seed. Both teams will be playing at home in the first round of the playoffs.

Carrollton (9-0, 3-0) is ranked No. 1 in Class 6A and can secure its third straight region championship with a victory. The Trojans are coached by Joey King.

Douglas County (8-1, 3-0) is ranked No. 4, losing only to No. 2-ranked Buford. The Tigers, who also won a region championship in 2023, rolled over Chapel Hill 42-0 on Friday. Douglas County is coached by Johnny White.

The two schools have not played since 2021 when Carrollton prevailed 35-31. Carrollton leads the series 16-9-1 and have won the last nine in a series that began in 1926.
