About Pace Academy: The Knights (21-3) won the Area 4 championship. Top players on the team include Reign Sherrell, Kiyah Burrell, Emily Winwood receiver Lucy Fleming and quarterback Harper Auchincloss, the team’s quarterback and leading rusher.
About Pope: The Greyhounds (25-2)) won the Area 6 championship. Pope is the defending state champion beat Allatoona in a close final game, with Sarah Gentry knocking away the two-point conversion pass on the final play. The Greyhounds lost six key seniors from that championship team. Abbey Bensman has thrown 81 touchdown passes and Addie Daughtry has been the team’s top receiver and tackler.
