The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) in partnership with Ebenezer Baptist Church is pleased to announce the return of the much-loved King Celebration concert. This production highlights both the musicians of the ASO and the Church. Members of the ASO’s lauded chorus and the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir were joined by Jazz singer, Gregory Porter, performing his compositions, “1960 What?”. Selections also included songs from the classical tradition and contemporary Black composers from Atlanta like Carlos Simon and Joel Thompson, gospel music, by composers such as Thomas A. Dorsey and Kurt Carr, as well as jazz and other repertoire reflective of the Ebenezer worship experience. The program was conducted by Jonathan Taylor Rush. GPB was proud to be the production partner for the event.
